Freedom Day Festival at Camp Nelson National Monument

You are invited to the 2nd Annual Freedom Day Festival commemorating the Independence Day celebration organized by African American soldiers and refugees at Camp Nelson on July 4, 1865. Today, the park is the southern terminus of the Brigadier General Charles Young Memorial Historical Corridor and will feature an exhibit in his honor created by Trina Michelle Robinson.
